Guest guest
Hey, My name is Tolbert from Georgia. My 3 year old RSS daughter, Maddison, will be starting growth hormones Monday for the first time. She will be taking humatrope (spelling may be wrong). Does anyone else take this. My second question is what to expect from the growth hormones? How fast do they start working, how or why do they help with eating, any side effects, leg cramps? I know I can ask her endo. all these questions but I just wanted to ask the pros!!! All of you guys. Maddison has a mild case I would say. She has never had a feeding tube, she has reflux but not severe, she takes periactin but she still doesn't eat much on her own. She will be 4 Feb. 2, she weighs almost 25 lbs and is about 35 inches. Thanks for any feedback. How often are the MRI's done after they start the gh and how often do they go to the dr for check ups after starting. and Maddison Tolbert
Guest guest
Hi, . I remember you from the convention each year. I'm glad to hear that Maddison will be starting gh next week. She will do well with it. Max has been on Humatrope for almost 14 years. We have never had a problem with it. Just make sure that you are given an Injectease for giving the injections. It is just like a pen that you put the syringe into. You put the device up against Maddison's leg, push a button and the gh goes right in. It's quick and easy. I don't think you are going to see results overnight. I think, though, that over time you will notice that Maddison begins to eat a little more (remember Dr. H's theory about just 10 calories more a day) and one day you will look at her and just know that she has grown. But that will take time. Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions. Jodi Z
