I've heard using a heating pad and using a slow-cooker - do these methods work yeah, they work. or if you have an oven light - you can use the oven with just the light on and a bulb of 60 watts. > or should i bear down and buy the yogurt maker? > > Thanks! > > Ellen > > > > ------------------------------------ > >

I've heard using a heating pad and using a slow-cooker - do these methods work Those methods work. You can also get a non-electric cooler, and put a cheap lamp socket in it with a 60 watt bulb, then place your covered yogurt container next to it and cover it. I recommend testing any of the alternative methods with water to be sure you get the proper temperature before using it on your milk and starter! <g> — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
