Guest guest
I'm sorry you have to go through this. Going on intro is good, and then to easy to digest foods. Epsom salt baths help as well. What I have heard about these things, is that they get shorter and less intense as time goes on. I hope this is the case for you. Feel better, PJ > > Hey Everyone! Seems like ages since I've been online. I just got back from my week-long trip to Miami and everything went great! Now that I know to send my yogurt and pear/applesauce through with my luggage and not a carry-on, travel has become much smoother... > > We stayed at the " Palms " resort and the staff was so nice and supportive of my diet. MARILYN- I made a version of your " allergy card " and it was SO HELPFUL! The chefs were able to tell me right away if there was something I could/couldn't eat. The Palms makes everything from organic and local food so I felt great about what I got. My favorite meal was a " salad " of lobster, avocado and hard boiled eggs. I am easy to please > For anyone who goes out to eat, this card is a must!!! You can fine tune it to your own needs. > > Anyway, I am approaching week 3 of my 7 month flare. I had a 5 week flare at 3 months and nothing at 5. So, of course, I am pretty down about it. I know I am always the first to say " hang in there " when anyone else is having troubles, but it is so discouraging. I was making some really good improvement and now I feel like I am back at the beginning of the diet again. Ugh. Any words of advice? I am going to go back to the intro on Monday... > > -Joanna > SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 25mg Prednisone >
Guest guest
Thank you PJ! It's so nice to get advice or just hear that it's " normal " I've never done the epsom baths- I'm just not a bath person. But... maybe today will be the day! -Joanna > > > > Hey Everyone! Guest guest
I didn't used to be a bath person either. Then I met epsom salts :-) Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > > > > > Hey Everyone! Guest guest
Hey ! Go to " Files " on the left hand menu and then " Eating Out With Scd " . I also love Marilyn's other file in there that talks about her experiences. -Joanna > > > > > > > > > > Hey Everyone! Seems like ages since I've been online. Thanks! , Mine is in the BTVC-SCD library. It's a word processing document set up to print two sheets on a standard piece of paper. You can use it as a template, and just plug into it the foods you like and tolerate. I keep copies in my food case so I always have them when I am eating out. That way, the poor waiter doesn't turn green trying to remember all the things I can and cannot have. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, Any chance I can post a link to this document from my website? Is the file up anywhere that is not in this group (ie can someone not in this group open it)? Thanks, Kat > >Where can i find a copy of Marilyn's " allergy > >card " . Guest guest
Found it! Thanks Joanna and Marilyn! There's only a couple of restaurants that i trust eating at and it'll help to give them this to refer to. The last 2 times we ate out they've had garlic in my meal and i had to send it back. I can't tolerate it right now. This will help a great deal. Thanks a bunch! > >Where can i find a copy of Marilyn's " allergy > >card " . Guest guest
sites.google.com is a really easy way to create a web site without programming. It doesn't have shopping cart features, but is great for making a basic multi-page web site. You can also apply many design templates to your site and upload photos as well as control who can see or update it. Best of all, it's free. Something to think about, anyway. --On Mon, Apr 12, 2010 at 10:43 AM, Wizop Marilyn L. Is the file up anywhere that is not in this group (ie can someone not in this group open it)? <sigh> The file is not up anywhere, no. I don't have a website because I'm not a programmer. Anyone who's a member of this group can access it -- and if they're needing to access it and aren't a member, they probably need to be! <grin> You're welcome to link to it -- just please be sure that I have credit for it. I get really PO'd when people take my recipes and post them elsewhere without giving credit. (This is one reason I ask that anyone posting a recipe give proper attribution to the recipe creator.) — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
