Do you know anything about her? What is your opinion of anything that she has written in reference with the autism spectrum? Thanks for all your helpful information! Take care, Sue.. Guest guest
Hi Sue, I was at the DAN conference were Megson was one of the presenters. What she said made sense. She has had a lot of success with Cod Liver Oil. In my opinion, it can't hurt to try it out. I am even thinking about giving it to my son's NT twin brother. According to Dr. Megson, " Those most at risk report a family history of at least one parent with a pre-existing G-alpha protein defect, including night blindness, pseudohypoparathyroidism or adenoma of the thyroid or pituitary gland. " In my family, my mom and sister have Grave's disease and my other sister has Hoshimoto's (Thyroid problems). Also, I don't know if it is related, but I am color blind. I really should have tried the cod liver oil sooner but Austin has improved so much, I was reluctant to try new things with him. In the last couple of days, he is even more social than usual. Also, his attention is right on all of the time and he isn't as distractable. I really think this is because of the cod liver oil. Just a side note, it really is important to start out slow with these vitamins. It was a huge mistake on my part to remove all gluten and casien plus start up the vitamins-- full dose on the same day. Everyone suffered from it ;-o When giving the cod liver oil, I was concerned about the mercury. Kirkman's is the only product I will use because they make sure that the cod liver oil is free of mercury and pesticides. I trust them. Wishing you success. Guest guest
, will be 2 in February, and his DAN, Dr. Baptist in Kansas, recommended that we give him 1000 IU vitamin A each day via cod liver oil. He said that you have to read the label and see how much vit. A is in it in order to figure out how much to give them. Also someone asked if you have to build up to their dosage, and I just wanted to say that our doctor did not mention anything about that. --- Foland wrote: > I looked at cod liver oil and have read the > reasearch papers-but isnt it a > awful lot of vit A?
