Hello All,

First, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers last week when

was scheduled to have surgery to place a g-tube, fix a

malrotation in his intestine and remove his appendix.

Unfortunately, he has been hospitalized ever since. Actually, we

left Sunday night only to return a few hours later because he had non-

stop vomiting and was in severe pain. He has since been diagonised

with " paralytic ileus " , which essentially means that his intestines

are stunned and not functioning properly or pushing his food

through. He has not been able to eat (orally) since Sunday. They

are giving him a diluted formula through his g-tube and he has been

on an IV. He has been poked umpteen times for blood, but they can

never get enough to run their tests.

His surgeon did not expect this from him and it has taken him much

longer than average to recover. They gave him an enema yesterday to

relieve him from some gas and pressure, as he was very

uncomfortable. I have not been able to hold him or move him much

because of the pain.

Hopefully his intestines will " wake up " and come back to normal

soon. This was supposed to be a simple in-and-out procedure that has

dragged on for a week. I can't wait until we can all go home and

return to some state of " normalcy " . :-(

Please continue to keep him (us!) in your prayers. I am confident

things will get better soon. I appreciate all the messages and e-

mails from you wonderful folks!

Take care and thanks a bunch,

Mom to 5 1/2 and 21 months (RSS, etc.)
