Did your daughter mainly had brachy?

Maysa's CI was around 98% and after two DOC bands it got down to 85% (according to CT hand measurements). Her head is not as long in the back as that of her sister and I think that's one reason why I still see what's left of it, but it certainly looks good and a lot better now.

How old is your daughter? Will they do another band for her if you wanted to? Maybe you can post her exit pictures and get the other group members opinion on what they think of her head shape. While numbers did matter to me a lot at first, I found towards the end of treament that pictures gave me a better idea of how she'd improved.

Our specialist (cranial facial plastic surgeon) recommends banding at 90 or above. My daughter was about 96 when we banded. I thought of stoping at 87 because I was sick of the band, however she still had room to grow, so he encouraged me to continue. She got down to 85% by graduation, and I was glad. However I don't think he would have recommended a 2nd band at 88%, it was just that the first one still fit. If it really bothers you, you could do a 2nd band, but it is borderline. It also depends on how your child looks. I do still notice my daughter's head - she has some funny corners and angles, but overall it isn't visible. -christinesydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad>>
