Do these both have to be > treated with surgery? I had a biliolimb blockage and turned very yellow (jaundiced). A friend noticed the yellowness in my eyes. This was 10 days post op, I called my doc and he ran tests and he wanted to wait a few days and see if it subsided but by day 14 I was very yellow and my bilirubin level was sky high as was my amylase. I had to have a second open surgery to have the blockage unblocked (which resulted from my doc squeezing my gallbladder during surgery to feel for stones and pushing sludge into the ducts). I had to wear a drain tube emptying the bile into a bag hooked to my leg for the next 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks I underwent a procedure to have the constricted duct dilated and then a few weeks after that they were able to pull the drain tube. It was yucky and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I don't think it happens too often, at least I haven't read about it too often. Good luck to you, I am sure you will do fine. -95 lbs. 3/23/
