Guest guest
Does anyone have any advice on using SCD for a child with acid reflux ? I have a friend who's young son grew up on rice cereal and in my opinion this contributes to the inbalance of throwing your Ph off and causing an acidic environment. BUT, I could be wrong. Any help would be appreciated. CD - 4 1/2 yrs. SCD -
Guest guest
Antibiotics (in my case) threw off my guts' balance (in addition to a really bad trip to the Caribbean), stress and bad eating. I had Acid Reflux (which caused me ulcers and a hernia). Docs at first were telling me to stay away from citrus fruits, coffee, alcohol, etc; I was more of a heavy soda drinker. I went on pills to curve it, but got the most relief just by stopping drinking soda, staying away from tomato-heavy products, and curbing my orange juice drinking. But, that was pre-SCD. I still have IBS but my acid reflux has reduced significantly. No more burning/hurting tummy to the point of collapsing. To be honest, I think it's the preservatives they put in food that causes digestive/acid reflux. The good thing about SCD is that you avoid the majority of them because you don't eat processed foods (save for some juice, and the occasional, cured sugar-free bacon which may contain them.) Actually, I got really sick from a sugar-free bacon last week -- I attribute that to the nitrates. > > Does anyone have any advice on using SCD for a child with acid reflux ? > I have a friend who's young son grew up on rice cereal and in my opinion > this contributes to the inbalance of throwing your Ph off and causing an acidic environment. > BUT, I could be wrong. > > Any help would be appreciated. > > > CD - 4 1/2 yrs. > SCD - 4 >
