We don't seem to remember to put people first... No one should have to choose between health and hunger...I find it appalling. ~*~ AJ ~*~ Age 37 5'8'' Post op 7/24/01 Open DS self pay - Dr Baltasar -Alcoy Spain 07/24/01 BMI 64 415.1 08/24/01 BMI 58 386.5 -28.6 lbs! 09/24/01 BMI 55.8 367.1 -48.0 lbs! -37.75 inches 10/24/01 BMI 52.6 346.0 -69.1 lbs! 11/05/01 BMI 51.0 337.0 -78.1lbs! -63 inches My profile: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=E982002956 My websites: www.wls4aj.homestead.com www.wlsbellingham.homestead.com
Guest guest
AJ, In Norway, they take care of their retired people very well, I hear. I have a friend who has family there and she said they pay for all their medical care and housing! You know, for all the countries that do well and take care of their people like this, we never hear these things! I personally feel the elderly have paid their dues and should be exempt from property taxes so they can live the rest of their lives in their own homes if they wish and not lose them becuz they dont have the income to pay the taxes! Its a travesty that these people have to pay the outrageous amounts of money for the meds they need to keep themselves alive and healthy. Guest guest
<< Its a travesty that these people have to pay the outrageous amounts of money for the meds they need to keep themselves alive and healthy. >> I worked with medical records where we conducted medicare audits. It would upset me so much to see that these older people were in the hospital due to " medical non-compliance " according to their not so understanding docs. They could not afford to buy there meds. They would get sick and have to go to hospital to get better, but still could not afford their meds and would end up right back in hospital in a short time. I think there are organizations that will help these people buy their meds., I think the doctors or pharmacists know about them. Obviously they are not well known.
