Hi Pat

Thanks for your reply, I would say Bobbi on average is on about 90cal/kg/day.

Yes ahe is on 30cal per oz formula, we have stuff called Calogen we add too

which is basically an oil that has 4.5cal per ml over all adds on about another

60 cal a day. The problem we have is Bobbi refuses to eat much solids only 1-2

tsp a day (sweet stuff) so we can only add to the milk at the moment.

Re: Calories - Brigitte

Hi Brigitte,

If you are getting all the calories you can down Bobbi at this point, and

she is gaining, even if it is slowly, then you're doing all you can.

has a VERY hard time gaining weight in the beginning. He weighed 10#

at a year, even with a g-tube!! At that point in 's life, Dr H wanted

him consuming approximately 160 calories per kg per day. At 3 yrs old she

has him currently on a diet where he only has to consume 80kcal/kg/day.

Are you using 30kcal/oz formula?? are you adding anything like Polycose to

her solid foods?? These were some suggestions we were given.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried either thickening or watering down your solids??? I would try

thickening it just a little, and see what she does... has a big

thing with texture... could be that is what is bothering Bobbi??? Has she

been tested for delayed gastric emptying??? If her stomach is emptying too

slowly, that would leave her feeling full longer...

These are just some ideas/suggestions of things that we were told to try

with while he was still on the bottle. WOW!! That was SO long ago!

LOL Personally, as long as Bobbie is gaining, I would work on things but not

push her too hard. Sounds like you're doing all that you can.
