Knip How wonderful for you. You will be in my prayers for sure. Love & Prayers, Peggy Florida, IPF/UIP 2004"I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." is finally within sight!!!! Yesterday I had my final "pre-listing" appointment at the Lung Transplant Clinic at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston!! The medically supervised liquid diet that I went on at the end of August worked to perfection and I weighed in a full 8 pounds UNDER the upper weight limit that they had set for me. All in all, I have lost 32 lbs since starting! The doctors were very pleased...in fact, the clinic coordinator even noticed the loss even before I had checked in! It was music to the ears to hear - "wow, , you have really lost a lot of weight!". So now, just a couple of final technicalities with paperwork, and the long process to get listed will be complete! Once all the formalities are covered, I was told to expect a call on MONDAY, letting me know that I am officially ACTIVE on the transplant list. It was 2 years ago last month that I was diagnosed with IPF. Two years ago, I had never even heard of this disease and never in my wildest dreams would have imagined that I would be getting a lung transplant, or any other kind of transplant for that matter. That was certainly not something that was on my list for - where do you see yourself in five years? LOL I would really like to thank everyone on here, as well as my Facebook friends, for the amazing amount of support I have received throughout this whole process. I am truly humbled to have so many great people keeping me in their thoughts and prayers!!! I'll be setting up a website soon, to keep everyone updated on my progress...as soon as I have the address, I will post it for those that would be interested.
