Guest guest
Hey Dana, Take your seasonal allergy meds and take benadryl if you need to. I also use patanol eye drops. You can get meds to be SCD compounded. Life Science and Hopewell are good compounding pharmacies that know all about the SCD. Seems to me though you are in a desperate state so take the allergy meds and go see a doc if you need to. Jodi > > > Anyone have any advice on SCD and seasonal allergies? Guest guest
Dana,Not sure about the rash, but there are some allergy eye drops that contain anti-histamines that will help with itchy swollen eyes due to allergies. You might try that. I have a friend who reacted to some flour I was baking with (pre-SCD) and she felt it in her eyes and throat. I gave her the eye drops and because the tear ducts drain past the sinuses and throat, it helped with the reaction in those places as well. She was positively amazed at the almost instant relief.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sat, May 22, 2010 12:17:45 AMSubject: allergies! Anyone have any advice on SCD and seasonal allergies? Guest guest
Also, are you doing nasal rinses? I find that is really helping me. Neil Med is one good brand. And if your symptoms are that bad, maybe start allergy shots? Mara > Hey Dana, > > Take your seasonal allergy meds and take benadryl if you need to. Guest guest
I was taking Zyrtec. It has some illegals, but since I needed them, I took them. I still take Flonase (nasal spray), and like Jodi, have some Patanol eye drops. I've also found eating raw local honey to be quite helpful. Since I know which pollens I'm most allergic too (like orange blossoms), I stock up on that kind of honey in very early spring.
