Guest guest
Hi, I have a 100 cc Common channel. I feel my weight loss is way too slow. I lost 33 lbs in first 3 weeks than 5 lbs in 6 weeks, than I starved myself only eating 400 to 500 cals a day and lost 8.5 that week. I am really scared and nervous that my common channel is too long!!!!!! What is yours what other responces have you gotten please share them with me Thanks > > Jody > > BPD/DS > > 8/30/01 > > Dr. Pomp NYC > > 297 starting > > 244.4 (10 weeks post op) >

I, too, have a 100cm common channel and I'm also 10 weeks post-op. I've lost a total of 44 pounds since my surgery. I started at 297 lbs. and now weigh 253 lbs. You've lost 9 pounds more than I have in the same amount of time. For God sake, you're not even 3 months post-op yet. A 50 lb. loss at 3 months is considered very good progress. 100 cm. is only a little over 3 feet of your intestine. Considering you have approximately 20 ft. of intestines total, that means you had approximately 80% of your intestines bypassed. There's no way in he** you can't lose weight with that much intestine bypassed. Check out Magruder's weight loss chart. You'll see she lost 29 lbs. her first month and 10 lbs. her second month. By her 3rd month anniversary, she was down 51 pounds. Now she's lost almost all her excess weight at 2 years post-op and looks wonderful. Just relax and quit trying to starve yourself. It will come off.
