Guest guest
Hi all, It is so much fun to read all the good things happening to good people all over the country!!!! I think taking your pain meds the way you have is absolutely fine. I would be concerned if 3 or 4 months down the line you were still requesting pain meds at the same level. Let's face it all. We all respond to pain and pain meds in different ways. What buzz you get from sometimes taking a narcotic is so short. I only have narcotics as a pain med because of my allergic response to NSAIDS. These are the anti-inflammatory drugs. I live with constant pain. Yes, I take T-3s when I need them. I also take higher doses of other drugs on occasion. If I get a buzz it is usually because food hasn't hit my system or whatever. I call them my 5 second relief from pain buzzes. I have to eat food with all narcotics or I suffer from nausea. So, am I addicted? I don't care. My quality of life would be intolerable without them. I also go months without taking them then have to take them for a month or two. I do try to always take the lowest dose possible. OK, my concern. You all (post-ops) keep talking about a drug that is given during and after surgery to reduce swelling. Does anyone know the base of this medication. If I can't take it would that become a major problem? i
