To cut it short I decided to get them removed surgically.last week i went to a nearby hospital and met a gen .surgeon there who said it was a simple enough thing he would excise them and cautorise if necssary. he did that and put stitch too for the smaller one but he couldnt stitch the bigger corn which was excatly in the centre of my heel about 3mm in diameter and he gored it deep and removed it. he told me not to step on it for a few days .Easier said than done ,when i reached home and was trying to get on to the wheelchair from the car my foot accidently came down , Gosh !!!it started gushing bloodi immediedetely lost at least 300ml. of blood ,we drove back to the hospital where ithe dotcor s and nurses stemmed the bleeding and he had to stitich and cautorise again . It was so much painn and agony all bought on myself. since then I have been moving about on the wheel chair and the foot ist still healing . I shoulnt have come home at once after the procedure ,and the doctor sholndnt have sent me home at once. If not, I don't.I figure everyone else does the same, so sometimes maybe no one has any experience with the subject and they don't even read the post. Guest guest
I also missed reading of your pain and problem with bleeding. I am sorry I just skirted through our posts last night and did not take time to really read them. Complain away girlfriend! I feel your pain, although not surgically. I have gout, neuropathy and Achilles tendonitis from time to time. Just for fun. I gave away 35 pairs of heels when I realized they were never going to be my friends again. I even gave away my dancing shoes and my twinkly sparkly sandals. Foot pain is a nasty evil thing and should not be allowed to exist. Feel better and take care of you. Guest guest
Geeta,The feeling of being alone and without understanding comes at the oddest times. Recently, after a particularly stressful day at Jewish (they were great in every way), when the PFT was nearly impossible to finish, the exercise test was exhausting and to finish it off, a simple scan that is always a piece of cake was just terrible. I was not doing well when I got to Denver; and the scan, being the last procedure, was to be easy and I actually looked forward to getting it done and finishing the testing. After about 3 "hold your breath... breathe" segments, I was depleted of reserve. Coughing, gasping and near panic, it was finally over. For some reason, all recovered and breathing fine in the dressing room, I simply lost it and sat there sobbing and feeling like a fool. Absolutely nobody but one who has been there can possibly know that it isn't the event, it is the culmination of events! The old "straw that broke the camel's back" story fits well here. With all we have going for us, all we DON'T need is a blankety blank corn with added complications! You are understandably stressed out and need moral support. You came to the right place.Looking back, I don't know why the tech didn't offer O2 but she didn't. Next time anything like that happens I will ask for it. Maybe it would affect the scan but I doubt it. No doubt there will be more of these challenges. Other than being forewarned, I can't suggest to you how to deal with them; but this group is a great place to go after it's over. Just try not feeling foolish for your perfectly normal reactions. ann "When you're going through hell, keep on going.... Guest guest
Mike, I Soooo understand how you must have felt, the heart gets heavy and saturated and tears are the only way out, infact one feels much better after a good cry.i send you warm hugs to comfort you and thank you for your kind words. Geeta > > Geeta, > > The feeling of being alone and without understanding comes at the oddest times. After about 3 " hold your breath... breathe " segments, I was depleted of reserve. The old " straw that broke the camel's back " story fits well here. With all we have going for us, all we DON'T need is a blankety blank corn with added complications! You are understandably stressed out and need moral support. You came to the right place. > > Looking back, I don't know why the tech didn't offer O2 but she didn't. Next time anything like that happens I will ask for it. Maybe it would affect the scan but I doubt it. No doubt there will be more of these challenges. Other than being forewarned, I can't suggest to > you how to deal with them; but this group is a great place to go after > it's over. Just try not feeling foolish for your perfectly normal reactions. > > ann > > " When you're going through hell, keep on going.... Guest guest
Dear MamaSher,My Sjogren's was diagnosed by lab work several years ago. The symptoms were dry eyes and mouth and I felt like every joint in my body was aching like a tooth ache. I was started on Placquenil and something else (it escapes me now). I still take Placquenil and now prednisone to help with the arthritic pain. In the last few years I've had diagnosis of hyperthyroidism and GERDS, and now IPF. Still have the dry eyes which is such a nuisance, dry mouth isn't so bad now, just some difficulty swallowing and arthritic pain which flares up once in a while. Of course fatigue can settle in quickly at times, and I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I learned the other day that we can also have "brain fog". Now that covers a lot of ground doesn't it! LOL! I'm sure you'll do more research and see where it fits in with your symptoms. The culprit for me is Sjogren's-everything else I was diagnosed with came afterward. I wish this crummy disease would leave me alone-I've had enough.I was told that a lip biopsy is also used to diagnose Sjogren's if the blood work doesn't.Hope you had a good weekend!PJ in OH, 54, IPF '09, Sjogren's '95 Re: Corn removal I am sorry for that post folks,i dont know what got over me, it was stupid and childish, i should not complain like that!i feel worse nowGeeta> > Hi all,> iIwas having problems with 2 CORNS on my feet. One of them has been > with me for 25 yrs now . i am in pain all the time , i used corn caps > andid all sorts of thing s even excised them from time to time but > they kept coming back , here i am house bound stay in a prtotected > envirnment all day why should i have the at all,? but they were > making life hell fo rme , though imust say have a lot of tolerance > for pain.> To cut it short I decided to get them removed surgically.last week i > went to a nearby hospital and met a gen .surgeon there who said it > was a simple enough thing he would excise them and cautorise if > necssary.> he did that and put stitch too for the smaller one but he couldnt > stitch the bigger corn which was excatly in the centre of my heel > about 3mm in diameter and he gored it deep and removed it. he told > me not to step on it for a few days .Easier said than done ,when i > reached home and was trying to get on to the wheelchair from the car > my foot accidently came down , Gosh !!!it started gushing bloodi > immediedetely lost at least 300ml. of blood ,we drove back to the > hospital where ithe dotcor s and nurses stemmed the bleeding and he > had to stitich and cautorise again .
