Fairly new to SCD.....

I'm fairly new to SCD, only 55 days now, but I'm having slightly more normal BMs

that started almost immediately after beginning the diet. I've been reading all

your stories, about how long many of you have been sick, and the way people and

doctors have treated some of you.

I've only been sick 3 years, but I never imagined 3 years ago when I got c. diff

that I would still be sick 3 years later, and all of the crazy things that went

haywire with my body and brain. I thought once the c. diff was out of my

intestines my life would go back to normal, but it left me with post-infectious

IBS, chronic diarrhea, malabsorption and weight loss, thyroid problems,

insomnia, panic attacks, severe depression and suicidal thoughts (2 years ago),

restless leg syndrome, brain fog, and a painful case of fibromyalgia. I was a

very healthy, active, happy, mentally stable person before all this started. I

want nothing more than to have a " normal " life again and be a good mother to my

6 year old daughter. My husband is very understanding and supportive, but I feel

guilty putting so much on him because I'm nauseous and sick much of the time.

My hat's off to all of you who have been through years of illness and are now

helping others with SCD. I'm sticking with the diet and hoping that like many of

you, in time, I'll get some measure of health and normalcy back in my life.
