Guest guest
I _hate_ the master cleanse. I could NOT be more angry about it or what it does to people. I'll try and be brief..you're body essentially can store energy/calories in the form of fat. Fine. You don't need calories everyday. Your body basically cannot store protein. you need protein EVERYDAY. Recommendations for protein in US RDA are 50 mg. some people say that's high. Fine, it's probably high. Fine, americans eat too much protein anyway. BUT, you still HAVE to eat protein. IF you do not eat protein, you're body starts to cannibalize itself for the protein it needs. It goes after what it considers 'non-essential' organs first. In the battle for survival, your body considers your brain a non-essential organ. You get brain damage REAL fast.Don't get me started.but, in perspective, this is largely how really bad anorexics become hopeless cases and die... they starve themselves so badly they get brain damage, which essentially traumatizes their brains, and they are no longer able to process the emotional/psychological issues surrounding their disorder, and cannot recover. If you've ever known a real bad anorexic, even if they've become 'functional' again, you will see often they can never, ever, recover. 10+ days without protein is the most f****** stupid idea on the face of the earth.Don't do it ...make sure you always get protein. I don't care if it's meat, fish, egg whites, a little soy with something else, dairy, vegan combinations of protein like zucchini, eggplant, hummous, soy, grains, seaweed, algae, whatever. Make sure you get protein. If you want to cleanse, there are healthy ways to cleanse.Best Bwaaahahahahaha! I read your response and burst out laughing! My sentiments exactly! Guest guest
Every non-SCD person I know who's done it has raved about how amazing they feel during (minus the last day or two when they actually start to feel a little hungry) and most especially after. None of them have eating disorders. Many of them have used it as a way to jump start a way of eating healthier (so for example they have a better understanding of how much food we really need and have less of a desire for junk food). I know one person who did it SCD and she said it gave her a lot more energy HOWEVER she did it with honey and that's not really recommended for the Master Cleanse. If you're interested in it (though it doesn't sound like you are) I would recommend reading the " Complete Master Cleanse " all the way through and actually talking with people who have done it first. That said, if you're already SCD I can tell you right now that the book will recommend you DO NOT do it. I haven't done it myself but I do fruit/veggie juice fast occasionally (usually only lasts about 2 days and helps like you wouldn't believe when I'm flaring) and they make my mind and body feel so much healthier, clearer and cleaner. And that's all I have to say about that Stacey > > > > > > > Bwaaahahahahaha! > > > > I read your response and burst out laughing!
