Guest guest
Hi Sunny, Wow you have been through the mill and back again. I am so sorry. When I was on prednisone my skin was like tissue paper.I bled with every bump. my skin would peel back. I used sugar on the open places and they healed without much scaring. I would think your meds are causing this to happen. Call your Dr and ask. That is what they are for and you could google your meds and read about them. I'll be praying for you. Take it one day at a time. We are here for you. Hi Air Family, I am having some weird symptoms and wondered if anyone else has had these and could it possibly be caused by my seizure meds. I just spent 4 days in the hospital because I was having seizures then I had a stroke (TIA) in the hospital. I lost the use of my left side but it is coming back except for weakness in my left leg. They said my seizures are either stress seizures or a Lupus flare. They wouldn't pin it down further than that and saying it is not epilepsy. Anyway they put me on several seizure meds. Now I have discoloration on both arms. It looks like a bad sunburn that's partially healed. Also if I bump into the wall with my arm it raises a large welt that looks like a blood blister. I can't play with my little dog anymore because even the littlest nip rips my skin open and it bleeds forever. I am on Lorazepam and neurontin. the first I take once a day and the second I take morning and night. Can anyone tell me if this is related to PF or a side effect of the new meds. I would appreciate it. Guest guest
Interesting. I am and have been on prednisone for a long long long long time. That will cause thin skin. My arms are a mess and I need to be in bubble wrap :-( Even the rough paw pads of my dog will either create a bruise or a bleed. Under the bruise the blood does not seem to clot so if I bumb an already bruised spot the thin layer of skin tears and I bleed until the blood all leaves the bruised spot. Guest guest
That gives me somewhere to start as I am on prednisone and have been for years. I will talk to my doctor about taking me off and see if things improve.
