Update on Cassie

Thank you all for your prayers! The second test is in and it showed improvement in her platelets and though they are low she can clot now! Thank you so much for your prayers. Keep praying though! Her red blood cells are in bad shape. Her red blood cells are immature and the vet says that is a sign of something wrong with the bone Marrow. She said it could just be something spontaneous that happened and it will just disappear or it could be something as ominous as caner. She has sent her blood slide to a pathologist who will read it on Monday. She said she gave her a shot of prednisone yesterday and to be on the safe side she has given her an antibiotic to take for 14 days because an infection can cause this too. She said her blood work didn't show a infection so this is just to make sure.......She said she may have to have extensive testing and that will be a real burden but it has to be done...The vet asked me if I had anything that could possibly have lead in it that she chewed and I said no. She asked me if I had any dog toys painted from China...and I said No but will throw out all my dog toys from China just to be safe! I will also get rid of any dog food I have that wasn't made in America with American ingredients. God knows what can end up in our dogs food! I just changed them from Merrick to another dog food and am not sure about it. Anyway, thank you so much for your prayers and I request you keep praying! Joyce Rudy AZ birds
