Guest guest
Hi, Yes it is definitly a novelty for her. I'm not going to do it at every meal but more so on her more distracted days (we're looking into ADD). It's just another trick to put in our bag of tricks to get her to stay at the table longer and eat a bit more. A couple of things that makes it go a bit easier for us is that we sometimes take a step back from proper table manners, ie: she likes to see the food in her mouth once it's chewed or we'll have a race to see who can finish their potatoes first, etc. Our kids have great table manners but sometimes you just have to go with what works. Oh yeah and our one major supper rule is that the kids may have one " no thankyou " serving even if it's the main course, this takes almost all of the stress away from the table. You didn't sign your name so I can't quite place you... sorry! Is your child RSS, what are the stats? Just curious.
