Guest guest
I agree - the GH doses are so crazy! I am learning that there are multiple ways to communicate the dose your child is on. Some doctors write it as xxmg per kg per day. Others write it as xxmg per kg per week. I believe that the .48mg per kg is per week (I can't remember if it is per week or per day). Dr. Harbison starts off much less to see if the child can grow on it -- but her study results at the convention showed that one of the biggest factors for her RSS/SGA kids was where the child's weight was at. She says " they can't grow on air. " She finds that the child responds best to GH when their weight for height is at the 15-25th percentile or so. My daughter started GH at around .18mg/kg/wk. After 4 years of quarterly checkups, with dose increases whenever her growth velocity slowed down, is now at .3125mg/kg/wk.
