Your on the right track. DO your research. Check

with all the doctors and find out what procedures they

do Then find a surgeon that does the surgery you want

all before going to insurance so you are prepared when

they say you have to have it done in state if there

are doctors who do it. I really believe that is why I

was able to get approved for the ds laproscopic out of

state even though the ds is done open in state.

Best Wishes

Those two websites talk about the RNY not the DS

in Seattle

Thanks for the hug and advice. I have been looking at going out of state.

That will definitely be a battle. LOL But I do think worth it if at all

feasible. Hopefully I will sell a few sculptures and can afford it.

Dr. Oakley now does the DS even though his websites do not talk

about it. I don't know when he started doing it for WLS, but has many

years experience in abdominal surgery, and comes highly recommended.

If you look on the AMOS site, Z. in Boise, Id. just had a DS

done by him the first part of Sept., and was very pleased with Dr.

Oakley. I don't know what his criteria is for choosing between the

procedures, but he feels the DS is the best solution for me YEA! b/c

of previous stomach stapling many years ago. He did say if I was

absolutely convinced I wanted RNY he would discuss it, so I am

assuming that if someone went to him wanting the DS, he would be open

to that.

Of course, I have not had my DS yet, awaiting insurance

approval, but am convinced it is the only way I want to go, and very

thankful that I won't end up with an RNY.

Hoping to be switched soooooooooon!
