Guest guest
Neither the epidural or the morphine pump replace anesthesia. They are both pain management tools. Some people react very poorly to the epidural. . .I am one of them. Having had meningitus as a child and suffereing from migrain headaches, the pain managment guy and I decided to just go with the morpine pump. I did well with it, and am sure I wouldn't not have done well with the epidural as it can really affect the fluid in your brain. From what I know (and I am not a medical person) the epidural is inserted into your spinal column and some fluid is pulled out to get it in. It is a safe procuedure and can work wonders.
