In the spirit of full disclosure, I should have also added that the

PCRM tends to be much more aggressive about advocating a diet with NO

meat, fish or dairy. Their website is worth a visit just to get a

flavor for some of the other debates in nutrition. I actually took a

peek at it more for my own health (being a breast cancer survivor and

being concerned about the links between red meats and high fats and

bc) than with 's RSS. Just wanted to add that!

<<Not only do we want to give the calories,

but we want each calories to pack as much nutritional punch as

possible! Personally, I don't know what we would have done without

milk or cheese in 's first 3 years!!!<<

I agree with you... Liam LIVES on Carnation instant breakfast mixed with

whole milk... But for me I rarely drink it, only if I have a chocolate

snack!! I feel alot healthier since I cut out milk and greatly cut down on

dairy products like cheese, etc....

hey katy!!

well i can tell you from experience that getting the calcium and

vit. from other sources works just as well!! i breastfed all of my

kids and then they were put on milk in a bottle for a few months

when i switched them to just cups non of them would drink the milk

anymore!!! they would gag!! so our ped just had us make sure we

gave them fortified juice and green leafy veggies. they did also

eat cheese, yogurt and pudding from time to time. nicholas only

started drinking milk again 2 last year, christopher drinks it off

and on but only with choc. or strawberry syrup and johnathon still

wont drink it. all of my boys are strong and healthy.

Our family could not live without milk...we go through about 6-7

gallons a week. I wonder what their alternative beverage of choice

is - soda? or juice? I'll still take the milk anyday! :)

Per our nutritionist our daughter should be drinking only milk or

equivalent (pediasure) and water, we were told not to offer fruit

juices ever, but tea is allowed (she takes only sipsS

Since Dr. H has limited 's intake of juice, she

drinks more milk or chocolate milk. She never drank a

tremendous amount of juice but just said to cut it

down more. Both my kids like chocolate milk, milk,

juice and water. They don't know what soda is yet and

they are 5 and 2 1/2. I figured they really don't need

it.
