Guest guest
I have been on SCD since 4/21/10. I got through the die-off period and was feeling pretty good for a few days, starting to get back to some light gardening and walking a tiny bit, etc. My brain seemed to be clearing up some, too. Then, I was in a situation where I made the decision to eat a piece of chicken with breading (I picked most of the breading off). I know better - not making excuses. There really isn't a good reason other than I was very hungry and I wasn't in a place to do anything differently. That was last Wednesday (5/19) and I've had non-stop D w/blood since. I am missing work today (5/24) because I'm too tired and dehydrated. Anyway, I'm on intro foods. Any advice about how long you think this might last is appreciated. I know none of this is scientific, meaning we all react differently to things. I was surprised at how quickly my D stopped when I started SCD. I'm hoping for more of the same. I'm kicking myself for the screw-up, but I can pretty much guarantee it won't happen again. Thanks, Gwen SCD 4/21/10 undiagnosed (but not for lack of trying)
Guest guest
I hope this stops quickly. Since you have been on SCD, you may have killed off some of the weaker gut bugs and the stronger ones are hanging around. You just fed them and also the gluten. Stay on intro and them stage one foods and hang in there. You had a good response so hopefully it will improve. PJ > > I have been on SCD since 4/21/10. I got trapped into a situation like that Christmas Eve of my first year. We went to one of my parents' favorite restaurants. I ordered pan-fried veal, and TOLD them what I could not have. Well, they brought out my meal, and they'd coated it in FLOUR. I wanted to send it back. My parents told me to stop making a scene and to just eat my food! And, un-brave person that I was then, I did. Almost didn't make it home (about a half hour from the restaurant) before the diarrhea started. And I also almost missed the candlelight Christmas Eve service which is one of my favorite times of the year, all because of that darn flour. After that, I knew SCD was my path, and I became very pro-active on it. Of course, it helped that I had a husband to back me up. <g> His favorite line became " What part of 'Marilyn can't eat that' don't you understand? " Are you currently taking a probiotic? I've found that a bit of extra acidolphilus and some s. boulardii can help when I get a bit of a rumble. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
