Guest guest
Can anyone who has had the surgery at Mount Sinai tell me about the accomodations? I don't need a bariatric bed but I would dearly love a private room. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks,

Guest guest
Hi , I did not have a private room, had to share with someone. But I did not ask for a private room, did not even think of it. Probably would have had to ok that with the insurance first. Sheri

Guest guest
At CPMC in San Francisco, if you request a single room, I was told the cost is an out of pocket $300 per night. I was thinking of staying at the Fairmont instead and just having my IV with me! Laughing. Now, the way around this....well, I hate to share my secrets but is to tell them that your spouse would like to spend the nights with you in order to take care of any of your needs, and you just want to warn them in advance that he/she snores real loud! If they have room, they tend to put you in a single room! Grins, Theresa P.S. Last two surgeries I just lucked out and did get the single rooms with a special fold out chair that made into a bed for my husband! The nurses loved him! > In a message dated 11/9/01 10:36:05 PM Eastern Standard Time, SheriGr@a... > writes: > > << Probably would have had to > ok that with the insurance first. >> > > Insurance doesn't normally pay for the private room, but the difference isn't > very much. Guest guest
Well T, that pretty much sucks - $300 a night? Okay, so the " light sleeper " thing won't fly eh? Maybe I'll borrow your Thom! lol ;-) Amy > > In a message dated 11/9/01 10:36:05 PM Eastern Standard Time, > SheriGr@a... > > writes: > > > > << Probably would have had to > > ok that with the insurance first. >> > > > > Insurance doesn't normally pay for the private room, but the > difference isn't > > very much. Guest guest
Consider him recruited, cuz I'm a sucker for foot massage. You, of course, can visit in between foot massages! My private room cost $30 a day extra and they brought in a cot for my DH to sleep in, we had a private bathroom with shower and they'd bring him towels every morning so he could shower and clean up. Cheaper than a hotel for him and I had a private duty nurse that way. Jackie
Guest guest
When I had my surgery at NYU on 4/26/01, I had a private room. I was charged $225 per day extra for it. Worth it in my opinion, but very expensive.
