Guest guest
Hello all, I made my second batch of goat yogurt but it's very runny and I'm not sure why. The only difference was the brand of goat milk. They were both full fat milks though. The first one I accidentally let the milk get up to 192 when I was boiling it, but I wouldn't think that would matter since I put the ProStart starter in at 110 degree both times, stirred gently for a few minutes, then put it in my yogurt maker. I even let the second batch ferment for 27 hours because I really wanted it to be firm. I'm lactose intolerant and I'm assuming the bacteria didn't consume all the lactose in this batch so I'm not going to eat any of it. Please let me know if I'm wrong about this. I'm planning on giving it to my husband and daughter in smoothies since they are not lactose intolerant. Is it even okay to give to them? Could it just be the brand of goat milk that made the difference? Thanks! Tamra in Gilroy
