Guest guest
I was 11 hours into the yogurt (goat) making process when my power went out. It was out for 6 hours. I moved the dehydrator outside in the 80 degree weather. Will the yogurt still be ok? Should I let it ferment for an additional 6 hours? This was my largest batch yet. Thanks for any advice! Guest guest
Your best bet is to ferment it for 6 more hours. 30 hours is probably the max for incubation and still having live bacteria- so you should be good since the yogurt was below temp. I'd say add 3-4 more. It will have kept fermenting at that time, just at a bit of a slower rate, so it should be fine. Or, you can do the whole 6 if you prefer - either way, it will be okay.
