Guest guest
, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers with worry about that bloodtest! The woman who administered the PFT (Pulmonary Fuction Test) to me said that the arterial gases bloodwork is a standard part of it(and it seems every doctor's/hospital's requirements are different) She saw the look on my face when she said how she'd draw the blood and said I could call the doctor to double-check if she wanted it. I decided to suck it up figuring that more information is better than too little and that I'd just get it over with. By the way, Ren ordered it for me because I'm asthmatic, just so you know. It's not a standard pre-admin. test. Anyway, honestly, it wasn't that bad. More uncomfortable than painful, to be honest. I think the thought of it is worse than the actual procedure itself (kinda like the endoscopy). She even had to do it twice because she got a vein, instead of an artery, the first time, and regardless, I survived just fine. So, don't worry. If you have to have it, it won't be as bad as you've conjured up in your mind, so no need to get yourself worked up for nothing. If you have any more questions, just ask. Eeeeks...ONE more day and counting for me. This afternoon, it's the Fleet phosphosoda. That should be fun! hahaha. NOT!!! ~ D. pre-op for TOMORROW with Dr. Ren. > > > including a PFT, which > > included the oh-so-fun arterial gases bloodcheck. Anyone out there > > experienced that fun one?
