Guest guest
Olivia got her band on wed and Friday night when I took it off it was dark red and kind of raised I left it off for an hour it was still dark so I did not put it back on last night. The mark is there this morning but has mainly faded. I don't know if I should put it on or wait till it totally goes away. I think it is heat rash. Do you know if ct has after hour contacts I can't find any? Thanks for any replies
Guest guest
I would not put the band back on until the redness goes away. My son has very sensitive skin and developed a few staph infections while wearing the band.this is rare, apparently, but I can tell you that whenever it was red, if I put the helmet back on before the redness faded (cortizone helped, too), he got an infection, and then had to be out of the helmet for at least a week, and sometimes on antibiotics, too. You might need an adjustment. > > Olivia got her band on wed and Friday night when I took it off it was dark red and kind of raised I left it off for an hour it was still dark so I did not put it back on last night. Guest guest
When Maysa got in her first DOC band, she also had a little red dot that didn't go away fast enough and it was the weekend. As far as I know, they do not have after hours contacts, but if you grabbed your ortho's card it has his/her email address on it. We ended up seeing them the following Monday and our ortho put a little lipstick where the red spot was and put the band back on. She then took it off and where the lipstick mark was on the band she shaved it off just a tiny little bit. There was no problem after that. Guest guest
I would just get her in to her ortho ASAP. It sounds like her helmet isn't fitting correctly and needs adjustments. My ortho taught me that if the red spots go away within 20 minutes that they are ok, when they don't go away don't put the helmet on and come in for an adjustment.
