Guest guest
Toni, I have come across this page in my research also, and I pointed it out to an RNY girlfriend. She pointed out some glaring incorrect statements on it. She then referred me to an RNY site with a similar table and there were GLARING inaccuracies about the DS on it. I am frustrated that the personal sales agenda of the people creating the chart incite them to exaggerate or totally mispresent information. Go to any RNY site and all they will focus on is the disgusting smell of bowel movements and chronic diarrhea and bowel movements. I am only pointing this about because you have to follow the annotations (when provided) to get to the meat of the information. I think there are two statistics that are critical. The first is quality of life. If any of us were good at dieting, we probably wouldn't need a surgery. A surgery that most mimics a modified diet or life style is probably critical for all of us. The second most critical statistic is permanent, long term weight loss. Why would anyone want to go through the committment and discomfort of any surgery for a short term gain??? The best thing with Magruders site, http://www.duodenalswitch.com/ is that she has all the source materials. People who I have referred there, have been extremely impressed and influenced especially those who were convinced that somehow they needed to be punished in order to change their lifestyle or lose weight! Hell, I know how well I respond to punishment! Laughing. Anyway, just a heads up if you refer that site to anyone who has actually studied the different surgeries in advance!
