health net troubles

I could change to the Delano Medical Group if I go to live with my Aunt who

lives 20 miles from there. That is my only real option. My understanding

is that the Delano Medical Group will not even consider talking about a WLS

for 6 months after you switch to them. Then.... Health Net told me today

that they have decided NOT to pay for the DS at all... period. Whether this

is true or not... or just someone jerking me around... ? who knows.

I cried myself sick this afternoon.

Hi, my name is A. Vickers and I was in a similar situation, I am now with

DRMG. I have had some interesting experiences and am still seeking

approval. I uprooted and moved my life here, if the surgery is something

that you are serious about the PCPs are serious about helping you, you

just have to be willing to wait. It took me six months to get a consult

approved with the surgeon. Prayer also helps.

Good Luck

Ohhhhh! Oh Elle. Remember that they tell us these things to wear us

down. Since they do it to everyone it must be pretty effective. I've

been bingeing like crazy! Is your current IPA the only one in your

area that contracts w/DRMC? Where do you live? Can you change

insurers? Or surgeons? Could you afford Spain ($11K+travel)? Or

Walter ($700)? Did you send that letter you wrote? I'm sure you've

been over this in the insurance group so forgive me for asking again!

I get people's stories mixed up. :-/ One thing that bothered me was

that your insurance gave you only one appeal. Someone mentioned that

that didn't sound right, and it seems to me I remember reading

somewhere that you get more than one. Of course Hull would know

about that.

It just seems like if we all put our heads together we could find a

solution!

Dr. Baltasar is charging $11K. There is the doctor in Brazil, Dr.

Marchesini, jbm@... , who has a great curriculum vitae, who is

performing the DS for $7,000. He only leaves a 2 cm. duodenum, like the NY

doctors so malabsorbtion might be a bit excessive. You might be able to

discuss that issue with him as well as discuss other fine points about his

version of the DS. He speaks English fluently. He should be added to the

list of options for the uninsured.
