Guest guest
Hey a, Glad you brought this up! I went through puberty with a maximum of maybe 5 zits and in the past month along my jaw line I have had a ton of acne big ugly zits. I am guessing its hormonal but I cant believe I am developing a " pizza face " at my age has anyone else had serious acne post-op and I dont mean the little white bumps but the big ugly pustulences that require a paper bag? Lisbeth (whom is glad someone brought up the acne thing) pstaple@... wrote: I had my surgery back in April and right afterwards had a problem with some white, itchy bumps on my forehead and arms. The condition cleared up after a short time but a friend who had her surgery right before me had the same thing and it cleared up but has recently returned. Has anyone had this experience and do any of you know what causes this condition in the first place? Some have thought it was a vitamin deficiency or something, but mine occured directly post op so I tend to think it was from the anesthesia or something else but that would not explain why it would return after so long. Could it be hormonal or something? Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks! ~a ----------------------------------------------------------------------

This has been discussed before, both here and on DS_PostOp_Friends. Opinions offered included: fat-soluble hormones from rapidly-released fat deposits and/or rosacea: dermatitis of the face, especially of the nose and cheeks, characterized by a red or rosy coloration, caused by dilation of capillaries, and the appearance of acnelike pimples. Also Called acne rosacea. I, too, had the pimples for a few days post-op, and they went away. --Steve -- --
Guest guest
Cripes! Don't tell me my cea is gonna flare post-op! Yikes. Actually, my cea isn't all that bad, rarely get the papules (little pimples), but have had a lovely time of flushing (but treated by photoderm last year quite successfully). Crossing my fingers I don't have a gnarly flare up though! Guest guest
True, but I wouldn't be surprised. Surgery is traumatic and conditions like cea react to trauma - so does Psoriasis, perhaps I'll have a flare in two areas (as I'm blessed with both). I'll just be the twig in the stream though and go with the flow...if I flare, I flare. Just thinking about one more thing to prepare, can't get any funner than this! (grin) > >Cripes! Guest guest
Amy, I suffer from cea when stressed out also. Look at it this way...we can hide the red with makeup, but I have a hell of a time erasing my hips with Maybelline! ROTFLMAO! Still looking forward to our post op shopping spree...hell, we will just hit the makeup counters too! Hugs, T > > >Cripes! Guest guest
Thank you Honey - holey mother and throw me a saint too, this has been an ordeal! But, along with roosters, I'm saving toenail clippings as an offering to the insurance approver gawds out there (ewww, grossed myself out on that one even!). hehe Hoping for a quick approval so I can get on with this thang already and have my 12/3 surgery date happen! Oh, my 15 page fax is on the way to me too, apparently - for my records - good call on that one! :-) Hugs! Amy > Amy, > > Rolling my eyes. I can't believe how patient you have been.
