Yahoo Search: or lack of it! Arghh!

hI kEN,

You and I have already exchanged an email about this...but wanted to

open it up to the group to see if they have any suggestions. It

seems that YAHOO Groups search function no longer allows you to

search archives without going through one page of messages at a time

(very time consuming). This will make it really hard for new people

to see what has been said about a topic, look up friends on the

listserve, verify information before posting something...etc..

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to work around this? Am I

perhaps not using it correctly?

Thanks,

Katy

Hi Katy,

I think since we last spoke on this Yahoo has made some changes.

I just did a search and I was able to go back quite far in a short

period of time.

Here is what I did.

1). Typed text I wanted to search for in Seach box.

2). Click on Search.

3). Results are displayed in a list. Also, Previous and Next buttons

are highlighted.

4). Click on NEXT and Yahoo steps back through the next block of

messages. In about 5 minutes, I was able to step back from your

message to message # 25000. Since I picked a popular topic there were

a lot of matches. So it took a little longer.

I hope this helps.
