What is the med they gave you for your IBS? I am going in to the dr this

afternoon...I want to request something. I'm not as bad as you were but its

really starting to upset me...i have to plan everything around bathrooms. I

have been off dairy etc...so its got to be my IBS!

I was prescribed 2 meds.. Symax SR for routine control (I take it

scheduled), and Symax SL, which is fast acting, for breakthrough

cramping, & only taken on an as-needed basis. Your pharmacist may

argue about giving you both.. explain to them that the fast-acting is

not scheduled, but only taken occasionally as needed. My pharmacist

spazzed until I used very small words to reassure her that I was not

planning to take both meds on a regular basis. I will say that the

fast-acting is wonderful when needed, though..
