Guest guest
If your liver function is OK (per the doctor), the only other thing I can think of is are you using a lot of turmeric? (You're probably not, but it is worth asking.) I actually have a topical skin treatment with turmeric in it that tinges my skin yellow, but that washes off after a couple showers. My hands/feet turn orange-y when I eat a lot of squash and carrots. But it doesn't happen quickly (after about a month, I can notice it.) People comment on it, and the doc always says it's fine.Best, Nina in MA I have ask several times in this group about my yellow skin. My hole body is more yellow then "normal" but specially my hands, feets and around my eyes and mouth is yellow. And it varies.. Some weeks I am very yellow and other weeks less. Guest guest
I don't use so much turmeric. I have always been yellow but it became more extreme the last year. Here is a picture (its a bit old..) http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/kannne/?action=view & current=DSC03941.jpg I am less yellow right now. It does not bother me that I am yellow as long as my liver is okey karianne scd 7 months > > If your liver function is OK (per the doctor), the only other thing I can think of is are you using a lot of turmeric? Guest guest
Maybe I misunderstand you replay but I don't get more yellow when I eat more beta caroten. Before I (re)started SCD I ate lots of different veggies (only SCD legal ones). Here is a picture of me then: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/kannne/?action=view & current=DSC03942.jpg Then I did intro diet and stage 1. I ate butternut squash and carrots for every meal every day i 2 months. And I got less yellow. But then I had a flare up and got more yellow. And so it has continued.. Some weeks very yellow, some weeks less yellow. Now I have proof that it is not only beta caroten that give me the yellow skin since I the last month have been eating a lot of hokkaido squash and butternut squash. And the last week only squash/carrot/broccoli. And now I am LESS yellow. I only tolerate 8 veggies and meat so it goes slowly.. karianne scd 7 months > > > > > > I have ask several times in this group about my yellow skin. Guest guest
When I was young my mom took me to the doctor for a checkup. She was thinking that I looked tan. I'm mighty french and so have dark hair and tan easily. The doc looked at my mom and laughed and told her to stop feeding me so many carrots.Maybe those who have been here much longer than I have a better answer to you. But with all the carrots and squash I've been eating I keep checking my skin to see if it changes color.LOLmichelleTo: Pecanbread <pecanbread >; BTVC SCD <btvc-scd >Sent: Fri, April 9, 2010 5:12:23 AMSubject: My yellow skin I have ask several times in this group about my yellow skin. Guest guest
Hi Karianne, in Chinese medicine color of the skin bears valuable information, along with the smell of your skin, etc. Yellow skin means your Earth element i.e. digestive system is either constitutionally weak or severely compromised. If your skin has always been yellow, than this is a constitutional weakness. I turned yellow when after I gave birth to my child for about a year, even though my constitutional weakness is a different element and normally I am pale white (Metal weakness). But after the pregnancy I was so depleted, that my skin turned dark-yellow color. The cool thing is that you can track your health status by the color of your skin. Guest guest
Maybe the yellowness has something to do with lack of sun exposure? Just a guess, but are you supplementing with a large amount of vitamin d3? Mara > I was in Dubai. > > karianne > > >>> So I think I give up.. I don't understand why I >>> am yellow.
