What we DON'T know is --- was this person at a lower weight than ideal to begin with and then gained back as a kind of 'stabilization' and the body 'needed' to have that extra weight in actuality? Sometimes people can lose a lot and actually go 'below' their body's natural ideal... If she keeps gaining, then I would think it definately is something to be looked into. However, to gain anywhere up to 10 lbs after getting to the lowest point isn't so surprising, I think.... Also, she is directly contradicting herself by saying that one has to be very 'diligent about eating habits and exercise' so as not to put weight back on, but claims that she gained a whopping 14 lbs despite her doing such diligent things????? I think that, if this is true, it could very well be that she was below her ideal weight and the 14 lbs that she 'gained back' was only her body's natural way of getting back into a 'healthy holding pattern'. If she wasn't eating healthily and exercising,t hen perhaps I think the gain could be attributed to this. all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt.
