Guest guest
Someone just last week asked about why agave nectar is illegal.Check this out. Even if my gut were entirely healthy I'd never want to come near the stuff after reading this. This confirms what Marilyn said about it and adds to it.(I think somebody should tell Elana!) Vas-y. http://www.elanaspantry.com/http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/03/30/beware-of-the-agave-nectar-health-food-fraud.aspx The weird thing about fructose fruit charts (which he has at the bottom) is that everyone of them I've seen have different values - none of them areconsistent. And the tradition continues here. In the past I've read that dates are incredibly high in fructose. Herethey are medium high and apples are higher, which directlycontradicts other charts I've seen.I've also read before, that when it comes to fruit, the best thingis to have lower fructose than glucose in the fruit, or for themto balance each other approximately - but that it's problematicwhen the fructose far exceeds the glucose. And here he doesn't have glucose levels, so you can't do that. Oh well,Mara

And the tradition continues here. I've found the same thing. The fructose thing in fruits was one of the things I got really carried away on, over-analyzing every little thing. Now, I've decided just to chill out about it. I mean, if it's a fruit that grows naturally that God put on this earth, and I eat it in it's natural raw state, I'm not going to worry about anything further than that. Guest guest
Hi! Actually Elana has written a post about this very subject called " The Great Agave Debate. Guest guest
Thanks! I'm really glad you posted this article!Could someone clear me up on something? I was under the impression that a lot of the time that refined sugars turn to fat faster than regular is because they do increase blood sugar levels (glycemic index stuff?) and the body to get the blood sugar levels down takes the sugar out darn fast and turns it to fat because that's the best thing the body can come up with. I thought the information regarding different processing of fructose and glucose was fastenating. Doesn't the blood sugar level issue to fat still hold though? Thanks!!! Guest guest
sorry - I'm having trouble being clear. I was just looking for some sort of confirmation that refined sugars raise blood sugar levels abnormally and to cope the human body then creates more fat from the consumption of those sugars then it would if they had not been refined, because the abnormal blood sugar level being raise is mitigated by the body by taking sugar out of the blood and turning it into fat? Thanks again :)On Fri, Apr 2, 2010 at 6:09 PM, Wizop Marilyn L. Alm wrote: At 04:55 PM 4/2/2010, you wrote: Doesn't the blood sugar level issue to fat still hold though?
