Hi to everyone again,

Stirling is now 6mths old and although he seems to enjoy the small

amounts of food he takes, it often takes an hour or more to feed him

2 (normal sized) ice cubes of food (about 1/2 jar). Is this

expected for RSS children?

Should i be trying to feed him smaller meals more frequently?

He seems to like his Hi-Calorie formula and will now take 60-80 ml

in a single session!

He is mainitaing his weight, still only gaining tiny amounts

although he has had another UTI which in turn triggered a bout of

oral thrush.

I keep getting a lot of pressure from health professionals to feed

him more as they don't really understand RSS and some refuse to

acknowledge he has it.( we're still awaiting a confirmed diagnosis,

but he has so many of the traits and a consultant at our local

hospital spotted it so i don't think there is much doubt there!

is it also common for the mother to be constantly blamed for the

child's condition as this is also happening to me. A Health Vistor

again asked me if I ate properly while pregnant with him as this is

a factor in SGA babies. I have also been accused of taking drugs

and drinking.

sorry for the mini-rant there, just wondred if this sort of thing

has happened to anyone else out there.

T

(Stirling 6mths tomorrow)
