Guest guest
Hi to everyone again, Stirling is now 6mths old and although he seems to enjoy the small amounts of food he takes, it often takes an hour or more to feed him 2 (normal sized) ice cubes of food (about 1/2 jar). Is this expected for RSS children? Should i be trying to feed him smaller meals more frequently? He seems to like his Hi-Calorie formula and will now take 60-80 ml in a single session! He is mainitaing his weight, still only gaining tiny amounts although he has had another UTI which in turn triggered a bout of oral thrush. I keep getting a lot of pressure from health professionals to feed him more as they don't really understand RSS and some refuse to acknowledge he has it.( we're still awaiting a confirmed diagnosis, but he has so many of the traits and a consultant at our local hospital spotted it so i don't think there is much doubt there! is it also common for the mother to be constantly blamed for the child's condition as this is also happening to me. A Health Vistor again asked me if I ate properly while pregnant with him as this is a factor in SGA babies. I have also been accused of taking drugs and drinking. sorry for the mini-rant there, just wondred if this sort of thing has happened to anyone else out there. T (Stirling 6mths tomorrow)
