Guest guest
Heya Kat, Glad to hear you're doing so well! Bummer about the skin. I still get weird on and off rashes. Have you had your hormones and thyroid thoroughly checked? Jodi > > Hey, Been a while since I asked any questions on here. I've been doing really well, no digestive symptoms at all for months now. > > My skin on the other hand has been just awful. I went off the birth control pill in November and since then my face has been constantly breaking out. I tried to do a search on here for acne, but the search is only returning stuff from 2008? I'm not sure if it's working. > > I'm not sure at this point what to try. I tried going off dairy and that made it worse so I quickly ate up my SCD yogurt after that. I tried low carb, I'm currently not having any honey and few nuts. Just eating lots of fats, organ meats, meat, seafood, vegetables and some fresh fruit. I'm eating more raw foods and more vegetables lately with success too. > > Just looking for any suggestions. I have heard some people cut out nightshades to deal with acne so I might try that. Does anyone have a skin care routine that works for them? I tend to stay away from commercial products. > > Thanks anyone for helping > Kat > http://scdkatfood.blogspot.com >
Guest guest
I haven't had any tests done but I have a feeling hormones are out of balance still. My naturopath is helping me through it with Chinese herbs and acupuncture. Just not sure how long to keep waiting for it to get better as it has been about 6 months now. I actually haven't had any rashes for 7 months now. Just the acne. I guess it's an improvement lol Kat > > > > Hey, Been a while since I asked any questions on here. Guest guest
I answered on the wrong thread, but I'll repeat it here. I've had moderate acne most of my life. What works for me is this:2 grams cod liver oil/daytoner made of witch hazel/tea tree oil that I mix up myself. aloe vera gel applied to skin only--not taken internallybenzoyl peroxide. I use 10%, but that may be strong for a lot of people.--

Guest guest
Thanks , I have used tea tree oil before. I think I might try different oils with a few drops of tea tree oil in it. I also haven't been keeping up the cod liver oil, maybe I'll bump that up again. I have at one point try benzyl peroxide and it was too harsh for me. Guest guest
Right, I use very little tea tree oil with the witch hazel, as it is really strong, as you say. Maybe a teaspoon to a whole 20 oz bottle of witch hazel. It works really well, though. Be a little careful with tea tree oil as it is extremely strong. I think we are not supposed to use it near the eyes at all. I have extremely sensitive thin dry skin and I really can't use anything with tea tree oil in it, though it's my favorite antiseptic for a little cut or something, and it certainly takes the sting out of bug bites.
