Thanks to everyone and especially Marilyn for starting this group. The only way

I can really return the favor is to " pay it forward " and be here for those

starting after me.

Thanks for all,

PJ

Happy SCD birthday! That's a great milestone, and you should be proud of

yourself for sticking to it with all your other obligations. I'm glad you are

doing well and have your life back. Knowing what your life could

I always appreciate your posts. You have a lot of good input. Congrats and may

you continue to feel better and better!

me along the way. A little over a year ago I went from being a busy active mom

to lying on the couch with D and overmedicated and miserable. Inflammation was

detected on colonoscopy and the GI diagnosed me with " mild UC " . I cried a lot

because I was missing out on so much. My daughter played soccer and I missed all

of her games.

and advice and I did not feel alone anymore. Like everyone here I spent hours

in the kitchen trying to learn a new way to cook and eat, and money replacing my

spices and getting new gadgets like yogurt makers.

friends (I've found some " safe " restaurants that cook legal food). I've visited

my kids at college (cooler full of food in tow). I haven't spent hours in the

kitchen because I've been so busy but I've found I can grill some meat or fish

and steam vegetables in little time, or just scramble some eggs if I am in a

hurry. I religiously make my yogurt which has become routine. For my recent

birthday my husband bought me a new bicycle.

Heya PJ,

I'm so psyched for you and it is such a fulfilling experience to see our own

hard work all come together slowly into the land of the living.

You're doing a fabulous job and are so helpful to others!

Continue on your road of success and you're gonna be blessed with so much more

good health because of the SCD.

Big hugs-

Jodi

Congratulations. I hope that I feel as good, and to hit my first year mark.

Hi PJ!

I'm sorry, I stopped mid sentence in that post. I got distracted, and sent it

without proofing it.

Anyways, thanks for asking how I'm doing. I am *knock on wood* feeling much

better, but I'm on Remicade and just recently got done with a prednisone taper.

I'm hoping that it lasts. In a way, I think I needed to get sick again so that I

know that I can't cheat on SCD, and now I'm so motivated to stay on it.

I'm so glad you're feeling better and still sticking around to offer advice. I

think it's great to have other people who have had success stick around to show

the rest of us that we can get there. I appreciate it!

Take care,

Amber
