But last time I drank cranberry juice for 2 or 3 days, as much juice as I could drink, and my bladder infection was gone. So the juice works, at least on me. I never tried the cranberry pills. This time I'm going to drink cranberry juice before I go in, see if that does any good. Sheryl
Guest guest
Help. Ok, I have 9 days until my surgery. I went to the doctors this morning because I am suffering from a bladder infection. I have a weeks worth of antibiotics to take and I am nervous that I won't shake this prior to surgery. I have a tendency to get these irritating UTIs that like to resist drugs and I am allergic to sulfa's! I am just worried of going into surgery with a bladder infection because I have heard some many end up going out of the hospital with UTI's i guess from catheterization! Any of you with medical experience...advice please? Oh, and The nurse was really worried because I have lost ten pounds since my last appointment, 9 days ago. I feel like have been eating like a pig with at least 9 " last suppers " in anticipation of my surgery! Laughing. I don't know what the heck is going on! Ok, nervously being a twit, Theresa
Guest guest
Sheryl, Thanks, I think I will hit as much cranberry juice as I can tolerate pre surgery! Guest guest
Theresa- ask your doctor for a med called Tequin. It comes in a 7-dose pack, but it kicks most UTIs in one dose.. the other 6 are like " insurance. " I got a UTI postop from a combo of being too dehydrated and the catheter, & the tequin kicked it ASAP. Hope it helps- Hugs, Liane =) > In a message dated 11/10/01 5:49:23 PM Eastern Standard Time, > timarie55@h... writes: > > << am just worried of going into surgery with a bladder infection > because I have heard some many end up going out of the hospital with > UTI's i guess from catheterization! Guest guest
Thanks Liane, She gave me Macrobid. If that doesn't kill it, I will ask for Tequin!
