I am sure each of us has a story to tell, however I am sure you are aware that you need to accept what your issues are and come to terms with what it is that you need to change so that you feel comfortable. The biggest struggle for some of us is to accept and adjust the way of life that we are facing. Also the lack of energy is the biggest issue. Most of us have had to quit our jobs due to disability and lack of energy. Also it is very hard to make some relatives and friends understand that the disease is what it is and that you are not making a big deal out of everything. You need to come to a realization that what matters is that you look after yourself and do what you are able to do and get help and resources with what you cannot deal with. Once to come to terms with some of your issues you will feel a lot better and over time you will be able to deal with a lot more issues because the issues get tougher as time goes on. I have had IPF since 2003 and I am still kicking and have made it through a lot of issues. I still drive, go shopping, exercise, walks and help my wife with dishes that I fill up most days in the dishwasher and empty it when it is done. I am also on hospice since Dec 2008 and I threw out the social worker who wanted to prepare me and my wife tor or last days. Sorry for a long story but dear as most us have gone through it we know how it feels and believe me it starts with you and ends with you having to deal with it.RegardsEnjoy your journey.Make the best of it.PravinIPF 2003CambridgeOntarioCanada
