If you buy "regular" bacon that is cured with sugar, you are allowed once per week cooked very crisp. This gets the majority of the sugar out of the bacon.If you buy a bacon that is sugar free (not cured with sugar) then you can have as much of it as you want, as often as you want it. Usually, low sodium bacon is sugar free as well. I use Gwaltney brand. It's a green box that says 40% less fat and it's sugar free. I've never had any problems with it. I've also found a beef bacon that was sugar free, but it has a strange after taste. Hi...I know that Elaine Gottschall said that Bacon was legal (once a week) but, I noticed that the majority of bacon brands out there are sugar-cured.

Was she saying that this type of sugar-cured bacon was legal (once a week) or a SCD-legal brand of bacon. I'm really confused.

The last brand of bacon I bought (sugar-free) from Kroger made me ill. I was wondering if there are any decent non-sugar cured brands of bacon that are decent.

I bought this pack of smoked back rashers. Do you guys think this bacon is okay to use freely??

Initially I saw this and I thought it would be ok, but i'm curious what the other 8% of the meat is?
