I’m

sorry to report that cellulose gum makes the supplement illegal. You

should probably find another one without that ingredient.

I’m

B12 deficient (originally my level tested at 190) but with the help of monthly

injections I can keep the levels just under 500, which is a big improvement for

me. I couldn’t improve my levels with oral doses of B12, so the

injections are important for me. My body always does better when I can

bypass the digestion and get things directly into my blood stream. [grin]

There

is a helpful list of supplement ingredients, legal and illegal, on

pecanbread.com. I use the list all the time when I’m considering

purchasing a supplement. http://www.pecanbread.com/p/Sup1.html

scroll down about halfway for the list. You can find legal B12

supplements, and other types, but sometimes you have to search many local

stores, or mail-order.

Can’t

help you with the questran issue, as I haven’t looked into it or taken

it.

Hi,

I have a B-12 supplement I'd like to take. It contains Dicalcium

phosphate, cellulose gum, modified cellulose, vegetable stearin,

magnesium stearate and silica.

Does anyone know if the cellulose gum and dicalcium phosphate would

be legal? I see that dicalcium phosphate is sometimes used as a

laxative for colon cleanses and I don't need to add to that since IBS/

diarreah is my main symptom.

My B-12 levels were on the low range (550) and my endocrinologist

prescribed me a nasal spray that I don't like taking (my nose always

feels like it's running). Another dr suggested just a supplement and

it's hard to find one w/legal ingredients. I am not opposed to shots

either which would be my next option. Wondering if anyone had any

input.

Also, on a side note, I noticed another post from someone that also

has an IBS, not IBD diagnosis and takes questran. Is that for

diareeah or cholesterol?

thanks in advance,

celiac, IBS-D
