Guest guest
We had our first game two weeks ago. got tired, walked off the field and sat in someone's chair. was busy digging in the dirt!! had a lot of trouble swinging the bat. I spoke to his PT before we signed him up, and she assured me that he would be able to do it. Well, I spoke with her last week to find out what was going on, and discovered yes, he can extend his arms and swing the bat properly - except she was using a wiffle ball bat. Well, duh! Oh well, mommy now owns a tball bat, tee, etc etc so the three of us can go practice. I can't wait for Steve's schedule (he works in college sports) to ease up so he can help. After all, even though all 4 of us are lefties, I throw righty and am having a bit of a problem helping the kids. They sure are cute when they play though. Guest guest
Hi Judith, plays coach pitch baseball. It is a step up from T-Ball. Anyway, in T-Ball and coach pitch, he uses a light weight fiberglass bat, not one of the wood or aluminium bats. The coach special ordered it for him. You might want to go to Sports Authority and see if the have one. Get 2, they break easy. It is almost as light as a wiffle ball bat. Several of the girls on the team also use the bat. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Ken, Thanks for the information. Do you know how many ounces it is? I found an aluminum bat that is 11 ounces and thought that would be light enough for him. I am sending it along to tball tonight. I will check sports authority also. Thanks, Judith > > We had our first game two weeks ago. got tired, walked off > > the field and sat in someone's chair. > > > > was busy digging in the dirt!! > > > > had a lot of trouble swinging the bat. Guest guest
Hi Judith, The fiberglass bats can be bought through a sports equipment distributor or Sports Authority. However, they too are 11 ounces and 27 inches long. That is about as light as they come according to coach , former pitcher for the KC Royals. Guest guest
Thanks Ken. Since the one I already bought is 11 ounces, I guess I did good.
