Unfortunately this is not the first time a national magazine has gotten it wrong/misleading. When my daughter was in her DOC band (2005), People Magazine did a story about banding and plagio/tort. It was a terrible article and left me with a very bad taste in my mouth about the whole magazine. On the flip side, our local paper did a story about the issue shortly after the People article came out and talked about the issues in a more informed manner. It's sad that my local paper could get it right but national magazines seem to be lacking in the "information department." Shame on them!!
