Guest guest
Dear Judy, The written instructions sent to me by the gastro prior to my Upper GI Endoscopy only told me to stop taking aspirin at least 3 days prior to the procedure and no food/drink after midnight the evening before. I was also told that I could take necessary medication in the early morning before the procedure with a small sip of water. The gastro I used totally knocked me out and the test was a breeze. I didn't even know it was done! Good luck. Jane J. > Is it true that you should not take meds for acid for 30 days before your > endoscopy? Guest guest
YOur doctor should be the only one who tells you this. > Is it true that you should not take meds for acid for 30 days before your > endoscopy? Just in case, I didn't take my Pantoloc (Canadian equivalent of > Prilosec, I believe) yesterday, and had terribly reflux during the night. > Would sure like to return to it if it doesn't prevent me from being a good > candidate for the endoscopy. > Can anyone advise me what is true and what to do? > > Judy
