Guest guest
Ok, Willie and Pixanne must be regional. While we had Captain Kangaroo, the big local one was " The Old Rebel and Pecos Pete Show. " I even went to the studio filming once. > > > > > > From: Beth mbmurtha@... > > Subject: Re: PLB - Pursed Lip Breathing > > To: Breathe-Support > > Date: Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 8:18 PM > > > > > > Stefani, > > I'll see your cassette tape and raise you by one 8 track > > tape....LOL Now who's dating herself? Guest guest
Here in Massachusetts, we watched Captain Kangaroo, Bozo's Big Top and Boomtown w/ Rex Trailer. I appeared on Boomtown. My favorite cartoon was on Captain Kangaroo. It was called Tom Terrific. He and his " mighty dog " Manfred ran around w/ a funnel on his head. My grandmother could never find her funnel. You can probably guess why!! Guest guest
Didn't know we were getting into the I am so old I remember... lol. I didn't have a TV until I was 8. We used to listen to a lot of radio shows. Boston Blackie was one of my favorites. On Sundays we went for a family drive (because gas was only 8 - 10 cents a gallon.. and you got either a kitchen towel or a drinking glass for each " fill " ) and listened to " Serenade to a Sunday " , a local radio program that played semi-classical, classical and some big band sounds. My dad supported the family in the early years as a juke box vendor (distributing 45s, providing shuffle board and pin ball machines and their maintenance) and as pin setter at the local bowling alley as his profession as a professional photographer was not enough for a family of 6. People used to pay for their pictures with farm produce (i.e., eggs, bacon, portion of beef... all non-taxable, non-traceable transactions). I have more recollections, but I think this is enough LOL.
