Guest guest
Ditto! Just some personal experience feedback. My non-RSS son has to have 3 teeth pulled, none of which are remotely ready to come out. Due to his major anxiety, we have had extensive discussions with the oral surgeon about the best method. In the end, safety won out. With the laughing gas and the numbing stuff, the surgeon truly believes that Tyler will feel NOTHING, and that all 3 teeth will be pulled out in less than 10 minutes total. To give anesthesia runs all those risks, plus makes the procedure a major and expensive event. The surgeon felt that if Tyler really freaks out, then we can always go to general anesthesia at that point. Guest guest
Our dentist called novacaine shots 'majic bubbles'. My children did not know they had had a shot until some kids at Middle School told them so. Middle school is when you are 11-12 yrs old, so the pretense worked very well! My youngest son had to have his front four top teeth pulled when he was four and it really was a pretty quick procedure.
